Join Us for a Prayer Service on February 8th for St. Josephine Bakhita
2017 Feb 2

Saint Josephine Bakhita
Saint Josephine Bakhita

“Seeing the sun, the moon and the stars, I said to myself, ‘Who could be the Master of these beautiful things?’ I felt a great desire to see him, to know him and to pay him homage.”

     -Saint Josephine Bakhita

In remembering St. Josephine Bakhita, patron saint of slavery and trafficked persons, and all the victims of trafficking, we invite you to a prayer service on Feb. 8 to end human trafficking.

Never before in history have there been more human slaves worldwide than there is today. They number approximately 20 to 30 million, of which at least five million are children. The School Sisters of Notre Dame are committed to eradicating human trafficking.

As an additional way to take action, we invite you to share this biography on St. Josephine Bakhita and the prayer service with at least two people outside the SSND community to help raise awareness of Human Trafficking.
