Caroline Center is a learning and career center for low-income women aged nineteen and up who reside in Baltimore City. It has as its mission to help unemployed and underemployed women acquire the discipline, knowledge and skills necessary to obtain a position that is fulfilling, pays a living wage with benefits, and offers opportunity for advancement.

Caroline Center's program offers a 15-week training in the areas of certified nursing assistant, certified childcare provider, pharmacy technician, culinary arts, or upholstery.  There is also
a GED component to the program for women who need a high school diploma.

In an effort to address the constraints in public and foundation funding while remaining true to its mission, Caroline Center has begun a social enterprise, Caroline Center Upholstery.  This small custom retail upholstery shop trains women to be upholsters and returns its earned income to its parent organization to support other trainings.
