Following is a short bio of each honoree:
Brother John Campbell, S.M., has a forty-plus years’ relationship with Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory which started in 1962 when he arrived to be a Biology teacher. In 1984, Br. John was appointed the first President of Chaminade High School. He assumed his second term as President of C-M from 1994 to 2002. He was awarded Coach of the Year for leading Chaminade to State Championships in Cross Country and Track & Field. Brother John works at the Marianist‐sponsored St. Louis High School in Hawaii.
Sister Marie Danielle Amspacher, SSND was principal of Madonna Academy from 1980-1984. Afterwards, she was appointed by Archbishop McCarthy to be the Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of Miami, a position she held until 1991. In 2003, Sister Danielle was appointed to be the Administrator of Villa Assumpta, a retirement center for the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
Father Dan Doyle, S.M. was born in New York and schooled by the Marianists in Dayton, Ohio. After his ordination in 1967, Father Doyle was assigned to come to Hollywood, Florida to teach at Chaminade High School. Father Doyle has been an essential building block for C-M acting as a teacher, a spiritual counselor, a Chaplain and a past President of the school. He is still very involved as a spiritual leader through his commitment to the charismatic community and Nativity Church in Hollywood, Florida.
Sister Grace Messarge, SSND was part of the Madonna Academy family and then of Chaminade-Madonna after the merger in 1988. She worked as Assistant Principal, Dean of Students, teacher, and faith leader leaving a deep mark on Chaminade-Madonna’s spiritual and educational identity during her seven years with the school. Sr. Grace is a member of the retirement community of the School Sisters of Notre Dame at Villa Assumpta in Maryland.
Brother Charles Roggemann, S.M. will always be part of what C-M has become. For more than thirty years Brother Chuck, as he was lovingly called by his students, professed great dedication for the classes he taught and the community he served. As a spiritual leader and friend of the student body he gave “heart” and “soul” to the school during his years at C-M. Since his retirement in 2005, Brother Chuck has lived with other Marianists in Dayton, OH.
