The Holy Angels community recently participated in Awareness Day, a time to build knowledge of themselves and the global community. Students at AHA Middle School examined peace on a personal level, while upper school students focused on “Waging Peace in a Divided World.”

Angelic Evening’ Turns 25

Angelic Evening is turning 25 this year, and the Academy of the Holy Angels is ready to pull out all the stops! This signature celebration of AHA’s steadfast supporters is set for May 11, and will be held at the Edgewood Country Club in River Vale, NJ.

Go, Bulldogs - AHA Senior Erin Ha Set to Play Tennis for Yale

Game, set, and match: Erin Ha. This Tenafly teen just signed her letter of intent to play tennis for the Yale Bulldogs. Her February 17 signing ceremony was held at the Academy of the Holy Angels, where Ha is midway through her senior year. Those in attendance included teammates, classmates, and Ha’s parents Karen and David.

Two invitation-only red carpet events enticed notable personalities, including Billie Holiday, Zelda Fitzgerald, and Katherine Hepburn, to the Academy of the Holy Angels on February 9 and 10. Their host: AHA Social Studies Department Chair Gail Fair.

AHA Open House for Catholic Schools Week

Local families started Catholic Schools Week (January 29-February 4) at Holy Angels, filling every available seat at the AHA Middle School Open House. Prospective sixth graders and their families learned about the benefits of a Holy Angels education, and took personalized campus tours guided by current students.

Emily Kim - AHA GSS Nominee

Emily Kim, an aspiring pediatric surgeon from Englewood Cliffs, is the Academy of the Holy Angels’ nominee for the Governor’s School of New Jersey Program in the Sciences! In 2022, Emily participated in the National Youth Leadership Forum: Medicine held at Saint John’s University and the 2022 National Student Leadership Conference: Medicine and Health Care at American University. AHA Team Hunger Summit

Angels Leave Teen Hunger Summit Inspired to Alleviate Food Insecurity

During the holiday season, when many people focus on abundant feasts, students from the Academy of the Holy Angels in Demarest attended The Community FoodBank of New Jersey’s Teen Hunger Summit. The virtual event (held December 6) inspired many attendees to take action to ameliorate food insecurity: the lack of reliable access to sufficient affordable and nutritious food.

Giving Thanks: AHA Teens Carry on S. Catherine’s Legacy of Kindness

Four exceptionally kind students from the Academy of the Holy Angels were recognized at the November 21 Thanksgiving Prayer Service. Camila Reynoso and Trinity Savage of Englewood Cliffs, Taylor Glynn of Hoboken, and Breanna Hetzer of Nutley received the Sister Catherine Green Kindness Award for going out of their way to lend a hand, listen, and bring joy to others.
