I choose to practice hope every day, wherever I am.
Every summer, as I choose to purchase food at our local farmers' markets, I feel hope in my gratitude for the sun’s rays and the summer rains that nurture the land.
I practice hope as I choose to work for reconciliation with Indigenous peoples who cultivated this land long before our European ancestors replaced them.
I practice hope as I choose to remember their children and our children live here and play here on the same land.
I practice hope as I choose to practice climate action that supports all life for the next seven generations.
I practice hope as I choose to share Indigenous books with children at the local gathering place, The Healing of the Seven Generations Centre.
Hope is a practice and a choice.
