Notre Dame Preparatory School

Sister Patricia McCarron, SSND, Ph.D., headmistress of Notre Dame Preparatory School, announced on February 2 that 15 NDP students have earned regional recognition for this year’s Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, some taking home multiple honors. Seventeen leaders from seven sponsored ministries and province departments gathered virtually from all parts of the Atlantic-Midwest Province for the New Employee Orientation (NEO), offered on Tuesday morning, November 9th and Wednesday afternoon, November 10th.
Notre Dame Preparatory School officially dedicated and blessed the Batza & Simon Academic Services and Enrichment Center at NDP on June 8. Headmistress Sister Patricia McCarron and several students were on hand to thank the families that made this space possible.

Academy of the Holy Angels

The 2021-22 academic year ended with a fond sendoff for five Holy Angels faculty members, including three department heads, who opted to leave their full-time posts.
At the AHA Angelic Evening 2022, two women who exemplify enduring commitment to AHA were awarded the Distinguished Alumna Award. Sister Sharon Slear, SSND, received the Legacy Award, and Diane Oakley (AHA ’71) received the Distinguished Alumna Award.
The inaugural eighth grade class from the Academy of the Holy Angels Middle School celebrated their commencement in a sea of pale blue caps and gowns. The June 10, 2022, baccalaureate Mass and graduation were held at Saint Therese of Lisieux Church in Cresskill, NJ.

Notre Dame of Maryland

Our sponsored ministry Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU) is taking bold action on sustainability and social justice in becoming a Laudato Si’ University, joining the first cohort of about 100 Catholic colleges and universities around the world.
On May 25, Notre Dame of Maryland University honored Sister Margaret Ellen Mahoney for her golden jubilee of 60 years as an SSND and for 35 years of service to NDMU! Congratulations to the 33 NDMU faculty and staff who celebrated milestone anniversaries.
Notre Dame of Maryland University will establish a $1.5 million endowed chair position to advance groundbreaking research and scholarship in biology, as well as elevate NDMU as a leader in STEM and health sciences in Baltimore and beyond.
