Dismantling Racism: Pray For State Legislators
Do you know your state legislators? They make important decisions for all of us, and one of our committee members, S. Jane Cayer, is getting to know two of her Maryland State Senators through an invitation from the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas. The sisters have connected many with their state senators in 17 states. S. Jane has written to the senators assigned to her to let them know that she prays daily that they have the courage to make wise decisions for the common good. Though the Sisters of Mercy are no longer taking participants for this year, we encourage you to choose one or more of your representatives at the state or federal level and pray for them as they make our laws.
Justice For Immigrants: Strength Through Advocacy
Help our immigrants by calling or stopping by your U.S. House District office or your U.S. Senator’s office to give them this Immigration fact sheet from Network. This organization was started by Catholic Sisters over 50 years ago and they have many resources for advocacy. They also provide a talking points sheet to assist you in your conversation with your representative.
