Haiti
On “Giving Tuesday,” December 3rd, the Development Office surpassed the donation goal of $12,500 in support of the Haiti Water Project. The amount raised was matched by a donor to make the total more than $25,000! This money will provide water catchment systems to more than 70 families on the island of Lagonav, which will facilitate access to food and water and, in turn, reduce the likelihood that children will be sent away to live in domestic servitude.
During the season of Advent, the JPIC office and the province Haiti committee are grateful for this successful collaborative effort that has shone light on the people of Haiti who so often feel invisible.
