How We Pray at 3030 Park in Bridgeport, CT

S Jacci

By Sister Jacci Glessner, SSND

As an SSND community within a larger staff and residential community in Bridgeport, CT, we are grateful for the many opportunities to grow in communal prayer!

Our new setting has produced some changes in daily living, as well as new friends and schedules, but one aspect of life has not changed for the 70 SSNDs living here at 3030 Park Senior Living.

Communal prayer remains very much a part of our daily lives!

Small groups of Sisters meet during the week at various times and in different places to join in various prayer forms to ask God’s blessings on the needs of the world, of the residents of 3030 and their families, and to give thanks to God for the many ways all are daily blessed.

On two Sunday evenings each month, we meet for Taize Prayer and Contemplative Prayer in our Interfaith Chapel.

On Fridays we do a Communion service, and coordinate Sunday and Wednesday Eucharist with retired priests and Jesuits from Fairfield University.

Residents are always welcome to all of these and many attend.

These forms of communal prayer help us - SSND and other residents - grow together in this very different but blessed communal lifestyle.
