I serve as a spiritual director to several people. As I accompany them on their spiritual journey, I am regularly inspired by their boundless resilience.
It could be summed up by the expression: “Hope springs eternal.”
Used initially in English by Alexander Pope, this sentiment appears universally to convey enduring optimism - resilient expectation - even in the face of challenge and difficult circumstances.
With those to whom I minister, and in my own times of struggle, I share this hope springing forth from the Eternal Source.
I lean into God.
