Kindness Awards Are ‘Valentines’ from the Holy Angels Community
Academy of the Holy Angels students Alana Pomponio, Kaitlyn Guintu, and Cristiana Callegari have received the Sister Catherine Green Kindness Award. Although these awards are presented each quarter, this round represented a special Valentine’s Day message for each recipient.
Pomponio, a sophomore from Nutley, is described as “the definition of a sweetheart.” She was nominated for helping to improve other people’s days by “doing the little things that matter to many of us.”
Guintu was recognized for her caring, compassionate, and positive attitude. This junior from Englewood tries to help others see the positive aspects of their situations. One person said Guintu’s actions constantly bring joy to others. Callegari was nominated for being the embodiment of what being a Holy Angels student should be.
“She cares more for others than for herself, and her uplifting spirit fills the halls of AHA,” a friend said of this senior from Upper Saddle River.
“I find myself working to be a better person just to match the kindness that comes so naturally to her.”
Kindness Awards are presented to Holy Angels students whose actions and attitudes inspire others. AHA Dean of Students Andréa Beyer accepts nominations from members of the school community, and the honorees are chosen by the administration.
