Saturday, May 17, was an especially joyful day as 10 Jubilarians celebrated with the SSND community at Senior Living Hospitality (formerly The Watermark) in Bridgeport, CT.
Six Jubilarians commemorated 70 years of faithfulness in 2025: Mary Ann Bazata, Maryrose Crowley, Elizabeth Ann Kaletcher, Anne McCarthy, Francis Mensik, and Adele Shea.
Three Jubilarians commemorated 60 years of commitment: Marie de Sales O'Dowd, Maureen Ulatowski, and John Vianney Zullo.
Sister Sue Czaplicki celebrated 25 years, and 80-year-old Jubilarian Clare Fitzgerald undoubtedly participated in a delightful and grand celebration in her new heavenly home.
The SSND community gathered in the auditorium for the very touching service arranged by the Jubilee committee. We all joined in the prayers and hymns and the Jubilarians renewed their vows with great emotion.
A luncheon followed in the flower- and balloon-bedecked dining room, where there was much sharing of stories, laughter, and thanks to all who had worked so hard to make the day meaningful and beautiful.
One Jubilarian commented: "I never thought that it would be so wonderful!"
Thank you, Jubilarians, for sharing your love, faithfulness, and gifts with SSND and the many people you have ministered to in diverse ways over the years.
May that spirit continue as the Pilgrimage of Hope emerges in the future.
As the closing song of the prayer service stated, "It is good to sing praises to God … for God's kindness to us. Sing praise for God's greatness!"
