Four SSNDs from Waterdown joined the Felician Sisters to celebrate their 150 years in North America on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
Sisters Rosemary Howarth, Joan Liss, Katharine Reiter, and Pauline Girodat attended the Mass and luncheon at Holy Name of Mary College Chapel in Mississauga, Ontario.

Here at Waterdown, we also celebrated the Felician Anniversary with Sisters Joanne Baradziej, CSSF, and Blaise Podruczny, CSSF, during our morning Mass and, later that afternoon, with an anniversary tea.
We also enjoyed a video on the history of the Felicians. “A movement in Harmony” included a quick cameo of our sister Blaise in action with the children at St. Felix in Toronto!

St. Felix, a non-profit community centre in downtown Toronto, provides compassionate service and a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment inclusive of all religions, genders, cultures and abilities.
The video was beautiful to watch. We were reminded that both SSNDs and Felicians are educators and care deeply for the marginalized.
It was a beautiful afternoon of sharing, learning, community, and, of course, warm apple fritters!
