Chicago Pilgrimage of Hope

Pilgrimage of Hope

Earlier in the Fall, Sisters, Associates, and colleagues were invited to make a Pilgrimage of Hope during this Jubilee Year.

It all began with Pope Francis’s invitation to encounter Christ in creation and restore our relationships with God, creation, and one another.

On Sunday, November 2, the Chicago area Associates gathered at Marian Village to make their Pilgrimage of Hope.

The pilgrimage involved prayer and discussion on the Ecological Stations of the Cross by Leah Schade, an associate professor at Lexington Theological Seminary.

Leah has designed seven stations to mourn the eco crucifixion of our planet. Each station addresses the different effects of climate change in the world.

The experience was an eye opener for everyone, as we saw changes throughout the world destroying the environment.

We came away feeling that this is information everyone needs to know, and we must do the best we can to protect and save the earth!
