Sisters at SSND Waterdown recently created Advent wreaths to decorate their doors.

We added ornaments, stars, holly and pictures of Jesus and Santa to our green cardboard wreaths.

While the artwork turned out beautifully, our conversations were even better.

We talked about Advent, and what it means to each of us.

While everyone had a slightly different perspective, together we formed one unified set of statements:

Advent is a season of joyful anticipation as we prepare for the coming of Christ.

Advent is a time to share love, give generously, and unite in prayer.

Advent is a time to foster peace and hope in our world.

As we journey through this season together, no matter where you are, let us contemplate this question as one: How can we open our hearts more fully to welcome all as Jesus this Christmas?
