...that Sister Limeteze Pierre-Gilles from the Atlantic-Midwest Province has been selected to participate in the USA National Religious Vocation Conference (NRVC) Convocation in October? NRVC recently received a grant from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation to continue lifelong formation and education of Catholic Sisters that fosters spiritual renewal and leadership skill-building. As part of this grant, NRVC encouraged each of its Member Areas across the U.S. to select two Sisters who have entered religious life since 2003 to participate in the convocation. We invited Sister Limeteze to submit an application for this grant; she applied and was selected by the Mid-Atlantic area where she resides. Although the convocation will be virtual due to the pandemic, Sister Limeteze will participate along with our entire Vocation Team in the three days of keynote sessions, workshops, networking and communal prayer, offering her insights as a newer entrant to religious life. In her application, Sister Limeteze noted, “We [SSND] have been taking steps to raise our awareness of our interculturality. Being able to learn, process, and reflect on these timely issues with religious from different backgrounds will help deepen and strengthen my understanding, knowledge, and commitment to religious life and my interaction with colleagues in my ministry.” We congratulate Sister Limeteze on being selected to participate in the convocation, as she brings her experiences and the SSND spirit and charism to this special event.
