A Fond Farewell to Our Beloved Vietnamese Sisters

On Monday, June 5, the Sisters of Villa Assumpta bid farewell to Sisters Hao, Nga and Len, Daughters of our Lady of the Holy Rosary.

They are 3 of the 4 Vietnamese Sisters who had been living with us for 4 years, 2 months and 16 days (by their count), and have been awarded full scholarships to study nursing at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio.

The fourth, Sister Theu, will continue to live with us while pursuing her studies in Art Therapy at Notre Dame of Maryland University.

After a liturgy of Thanksgiving, which included the celebrant Father Raymond and Sisters La and Luot, as well as Brothers Minh and Loi, the Sisters and their guests enjoyed a Vietnamese dinner in the dining room.

Sisters Charmaine Krohe and Marianne Roderick, local leader, were presented with a framed picture of Our Lady of Vietnam.

Blessings and tears of farewell abounded.
