Water

On March 22, we celebrate World Water Day! We invite you to reflect on the gift of water and the ways water connects us to our world—a fitting exercise for this time when circumstances can leave us with feelings of isolation. Here are some resources for your consideration:

•    Reflection and Activity Calendar: World Water Day to Earth Day (AMSSND Water Committee, 2019)
•    Prayer, reflection and educational resource on the sacredness of water and the global water crisis, adapted from a retreat developed by the Mercy International Reflection Process group in St. Louis. While designed for a group gathering, you can make use of the prayers, educational videos and reflection questions on your own.

Additionally, while some states, cities, and municipalities have pledged to keep water running for all residents during the coronavirus outbreak, many have not. This leaves those who are economically vulnerable at greater risk to contracting the virus due to lack of sanitation. Consider calling your local utility officials to demand that they keep water running.
