Autumn, when the days are crisp and clear and the trees are colorful, is the perfect time to celebrate Thanksgiving.
During my annual fall retreat, I reflect on God’s presence in my life in the previous year. Unfailingly gratitude is my deepest response.
As I get older, I am more and more aware of the gift of hindsight (which, for most of my life, I did not appreciate).
Now, I know that it is in hindsight that I can see God’s handiwork in my life—both in the good times and the difficult times.
Many years ago, a good friend of mine shared that “God gets us where God wants us.”
While I may question Her choice in the moment, hindsight has never failed in confirming it. For this I am grateful.
