On June 29, a small group of energetic young women joined the North American Vocation Team (NAVT) in a Joyful and Alive conversation via Zoom. Inspired by the Spirit, personal invitations were extended to several women ages 22-35 who had recently inquired about our congregation and requested further information. Rather than only write to each of them in response, we welcomed them into a Joyful and Alive conversation, for “Those who are free in God will always remain joyful and alive.” (Blessed Theresa, Letter #2) In that spirit of freedom, at the beginning of the Zoom session each participant responded to a poll noting about what area of religious life they were most interested in hearing. From there the NAVT took the lead to address the topics that received the majority of interest, e.g. discernment tips, what Sisters do for fun, steps to become a Sister, how Sisters live in community, how Sisters pray, the vows, our ministry. A healthy dialogue was enjoyed by inquirers and Sisters, with the happy result that a subsequent Joyful and Alive conversation is being planned. And two of the inquirers have even offered to help plan it!
