In "Laudato Si", Pope Francis writes, “neglecting to monitor the harm done to nature and the environmental impact of our decisions is a striking sign of a disregard of the message contained in the structure of nature itself…” At the heart of our lackluster response to our planet Earth’s current crisis of sustainability is what Pope Francis describes as a modern anthropocentrism. This exaggerated importance of the human has led to people losing their sense of place in and relationship to Earth.
