Students at Notre Dame Preparatory School competed in the decades long tradition of Gym Meet over the weekend of March 3-4. Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors marched, sang, danced, and aerobicized their way through two nights of competition and performance for parents and loved ones.
The tradition of Gym Meet began in 1929 as a calisthenics competition. Through only a few incarnations, the highly anticipated extravaganza has grown to include a poster competition, costumes and props, as well as the aforementioned events. The weekend is the culmination of weeks of student-led committee work, late nights, weekend mornings, and endless practices. Gym Meet also sees the return of alumnae to campus to relive some of their most cherished memories with their children.
This year the Senior class danced away with wins in each category. The Class of 2023 was awarded the highly coveted silver cup, which they hoisted as a class, a memory that lasts a lifetime for our students.
