I have been involved with SSND for about 80 years. My parents helped the order in our parish and school.
I benefitted from their teaching from Grade 1 through High School. After that, I was very much involved with the Academy’s Alumnae.
It was in the 1980s when the Canadian Province started formation of our Associate Program. I was asked to help with this.
The program blossomed from these early stages, and each year, under the guidance of Sister Louise Vanderploeg, SSND, our group flourished.
It was so enriching to meet others with a yearning for Spiritual Enrichment. Mother Theresa became our Guiding Light.
It is a great feeling today to know I belong to a Global Community connected in Prayer and Spirituality.
Even though I can’t get to gatherings due to health issues, distance, and lack of of computer skills, I still feel included in the order of the SSND.
Now retired, Theresa and her husband, John, live in the Mount Hope neighbourhood of Hamilton, Ontario. They have two sons.
