116. … An inadequate presentation of Christian anthropology gave rise to a wrong understanding of the relationship between human beings and the world. … Instead, our “dominion” over the universe should be understood more properly in the sense of responsible stewardship.

Reflection

Do you recall how your understanding of our relationship to the world has shifted over the years? Do you remember the first time you heard about “stewardship”? How would you describe your relationship to the world today?

Action

Consider ways you can nurture your stewardship of the world such as, simply tending a houseplant or growing herbs in a pot, landscaping with native plants, composting, reducing the use of plastics/packaging, advocating for cleaner air, water, and responsible land use, and purchasing local food and products. What can you do this week to be a steward of creation?
