
Sister Ann Louise Impink, SSND
February 11, 1939 – May 30, 2025
Ann Louise Impink was born in Reading, Pennsylvania to Raymond and Marie Schuler Impink. Her family was completed by the addition of her sister Mary and brother Raymond.
The Impink family were devout members of St. Paul Church in Reading, PA. Ann Louise and her siblings were baptized and received all their sacraments of initiation there.
Ann Louise entered the Sisters of Christian Charity in Mendham, New Jersey In
August 1956 and professed first vows August 21, 1959. In 1968, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Misericordia College. Ann Louise transferred to the School Sisters of Notre Dame in August 1982 and professed final vows as an SSND on October 19, 1985.
In her ministries both as a Sister of Christian Charity and a School Sister of Notre Dame, Ann Louise served as teacher, Director of Religious Education, and Pastoral Associate in a variety of locations in NJ and PA. During the years she earned a Master of Arts degree in Religious Studies from Mundelein College in 1988 and completed Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) which prepared her for ministry as a chaplain.
Over the years, Ann Louise served as a kindergarten teacher and Director of Religious Education at St. Boniface in Philadelphia, PA. A highlight of her ministry came in 1992 when she was missioned to La Paz, Bolivia for a year.
Upon her return home, Ann Louise served in numerous positions at schools and parishes including St. Peter Elementary School in Philadelphia where she lived in community for 19 years. While living at St Peter Convent, she spent 12 years as Chaplain at Holy Redeemer Hospital in Meadowbrook, PA.
Ann Louise began her service in the ministry of Prayer and Presence at Villa Assumpta in 2019 and then at Stella Maris in 2021. At 5:45 PM on May 30, 2025, Ann Louise entered eternal glory at Stella Maris after a day shared praying with her sisters. She is remembered fondly for her love of butterflies and dancing.
Ann Louise was a participant in the Rush Religious Order Study which included the donation of brain tissue after her death for the study of Alzheimer’s and related diseases. She donated her body to the Anatomy Board of Maryland for medical research.
A Memorial Mass was offered Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Villa Assumpta, 6401 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21212. Rev. Kenneth Gaddy, CSsR, presided at the liturgy and shared memories of Ann Louise during the years they both ministered at St. Boniface parish.
Her cremains will be interred at Villa Maria Cemetery, Glen Arm Rd., Glen Arm, MD at a later date.
