The School Sisters of Notre Dame knew they had to act after Pope Francis called on all religious communities to welcome refugees into their homes as a concrete response to the Syrian crisis.
SSNDs at Villa Notre Dame in Wilton, Connecticut along with the town of Wilton’s Interfaith Action committee, welcomed Manal and her family into our heart and home. Manal and her family are Syrian refugees. The family lives on our Wilton campus and we have all been on this journey together for about a year.
S. Leonora Tucker and Manal sat down for a conversation to reflect on the past year and their experiences today.
