Caroline Center

The Caroline Center is a learning and career center in Baltimore, Maryland. Caroline Center was founded in 1996 on the bold vision of Mother Caroline Friess (1824-1892), the woman who established the School Sisters of Notre Dame in North America and whose passion for education and deep concern for persons whom society had marginalized remains central to their mission. We are proud of our commitment to women and our commitment to work.

The ceremony for the 77th class of Caroline Center was a special occasion as it was the start of the 25th anniversary celebrations for the Center. Graduates, the Center’s leadership and many SSND Sisters joined in prayer with Provincial Leader Sister Charmaine Krohe, who led the blessing of the graduates and the building.
At the Caroline Center, “good news rules!” Recently the Center staff found out that development director, Michelle Payne, was featured in the Baltimore Sun during the holidays!
Caroline Center continues to be the “little engine that could.” We have continued to offer both CNA and PT training in a virtual learning environment since leaving the building on March 13, 2020. We continue to be awed and inspired by the perseverance of our women and the innovation of our staff.
