Meaningful relationships start when people take time to understand each other. During the first week of March, the Academy of the Holy Angels hosted International Week to foster a greater appreciation of the many cultures within the school community.
It is our hope that this is a way that the children who listen to this story of Blessed M. Theresa of Jesus will be able to celebrate this SSND tradition, and, perhaps, live lives that will change the world.

Notre Dame Learning Center in Rochester N.Y. has been lovingly called one of SSND’s "little engine that could" ministries, and operating - even in pre-COVID times - takes dedication, a passion for education and loving-kindness for both its students and volunteers and no one possesses these qualities more than Sister Evelyn Breslin.

When she returned to Connecticut in 2005, Claire became a part-time Hospice Nurse with Norwalk Hospice. Her work as a nurse, and her faithfulness to Weight Watchers, made her many friends in the area. Community service at Villa Notre Dame, especially driving, became Claire’s final gift to her Sisters.
Caroline Center continues to be the “little engine that could.” We have continued to offer both CNA and PT training in a virtual learning environment since leaving the building on March 13, 2020. We continue to be awed and inspired by the perseverance of our women and the innovation of our staff.
Sister Eleanor was noted for her caring, compassion, and supportive attention to individuals and families. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. In her autobiography Sister Eleanor wrote that she was honoured to have been born in May, the month dedicated to Mary.
One day a friend said, “I’m good at recognizing future nuns and I think you are one.” Pat gasped and said that it was true. Pat entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame on Sept. 7, 1957, receiving the candidate’s veil in the chapel of Notre Dame College.

Sister Eileen Reilly began a new ministry as Religious Engagement Associate with Catholic Mobilizing Network (CMN) in July. Her work with the CMN, which began 10 years ago, is focused on broadening and deepening the involvement of women religious towards eliminating the death penalty in the United States.

In 1960, Joan began her teaching ministry at Notre Dame Prep eventually completing a 20-year career at there. She said “Though the seeds of my vocation were planted early, I feel that it was God’s will that directed me to the School Sisters of Notre Dame,”
