By Anne MacNeil, LEAD Co-Coordinator
The smell and colours of fall fill the air here in Waterdown this time of year.
We here at SSND took full advantage of the fall beauty with a trip to the Mum Show at a local greenhouse in Hamilton, ON. The theme changes every year, and this year’s theme was “under the sea.”
We loaded up the cars, with Kim Beckett (the other LEAD co-coordinator) and me driving, and away we went to explore the unique display.
We saw sharks, octopuses, and other under-the-sea creatures made by placing chrysanthemums and other colourful plants together.
We were all in awe of the talent of the organizers, and thankful for God's beautiful creations that enabled such an amazing display!
Sister Katharine Reiter, 103, with her love of art and gardens, shared the name of every plant used.
Sister Katharine and the other Sisters - Joan Liss, Paulie Gerodat and Rosalie Reitzel - enjoyed every minute of the outing. They took lots of photos while creating new memories to share with others when we arrived home.
The gardeners, artists, and lovers of beauty could not help but return home relaxed and renewed.
