The Trudeau government has introduced Bill C-12, which would make Canada’s commitment to getting to net-zero emissions by 2050 legally binding. The “Canadian Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act” would require the government to set targets for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and report annually on progress on the path to 2050.
