On Wednesday, January 7, Sisters in Waterdown, Northern Alberta and England gathered for a delightful high tea to celebrate and welcome our new Provincial Council.
Our distant Sisters joined us by Zoom.
The atmosphere was filled with warmth and elegance, thanks to our Community Care Team, Jenna Buist and Marci Shea-Perry.
They had prepared a beautiful spread: dainty crustless sandwiches, classic English scones with jam, and an array of fancy squares.
Everything was served on the finest China and with and a vast selection of teas.
Each table featured notes on high tea etiquette, which we enjoyed exploring together. With our England
Sisters present, we were especially careful to make everything right!
The event began with a heartfelt prayer from Jenna, our Pastoral Care Coordinator, followed by blessings and words of encouragement from council members and Sisters.
We celebrated not only the new council, now one month into their journey, but also our Lay Community Care Team, just one week into theirs.
Both teams bring fresh ideas and renewed energy to SSND as we look forward to 2026 and beyond.
A big thank-you to everyone who helped with setup and cleanup—Sisters and staff alike—working together to make this gathering truly memorable!
