The FBI Baltimore Field Office recognized Notre Dame Preparatory School seventh- and eighth- graders with the National FBI Safe Online Surfing (FBI-SOS) Award on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. Students in the Technology and Global Citizenship classes scored a composite score of 90.65 percent to win the January 2021 award in the Starfish category (5-50 participants). For the month of January 2021, a total of 159,365students at 2,217 schools in all 50 states and U.S. territories participated in the FBI-SOS Program.
Local media outlets WBAL-TV and WMAR-TV covered the event, which included remarks from Special Agent in Charge Jennifer C. Boone, and Lead Computer Scientist Susi Hajeski, both from the FBI Baltimore Field Office. Both representatives spoke to the students about the career opportunities for women in the FBI and technology areas and encouraged them to break through into male-dominated career fields.
