We sisters in independent living at Marian Village near Chicago gather for community prayer in the afternoon, Monday through Thursday.
We take turns leading the prayer, a week at a time. We have agreed that the leader in prayer is free to plan it.
Leaders use the Companion to the Breviary as well as readings, songs, psalms and reflections from other sources.
We use sources from SSND, JPIC/SHALOM, Laudato Si’, and LCWR, as well as national and world events and needs.
At times, we use the computer for videos and music.
Over the years, we have come to value incorporating a period of silent reflection and prayer each day, sometimes followed by an invitation for sharing.
