Victoria Day in Canada is a public, national holiday in honour of Queen Victoria, the longest-running queen who celebrated her birthday on May 24. The national holiday is also known as May Two-Four, May Long, and May Long Weekend. It falls on the Monday preceding May 24, giving many a 3-day weekend.
Of course, we at Waterdown never miss a chance for a party! We celebrated Victoria Day 2025 in true Royal Style with our Royal Tea.
We served scones, specialty sandwiches - including Cream cheese and cucumber, roast beef, and egg salad - and other treats.
Our royal guests all arrived with personally designed “fascinators” ( a woman's light, decorative headpiece consisting of feathers, flowers, beads, and other adornments attached to a comb or hair clip).
Lots of stories and memories of previous May 24s were shared. Later, fireworks lighted up the skies.
It was truly a regal day across Canada, whether at more traditional family barbecues or British High Teas!
