Sister Catherine Gugerty, SSND, was invited to contribute a chapter to the just-published book, "The Outside Within." She submitted "Conch Shell Calling," including stories of people with little to no access to nature, and how her experience of being with those people in nature propelled her into a deep dive of her own history and experience of nature.
"What excites me most about this book and why I want to spread the word about it is that 50% of the proceeds of book sales will be put in a scholarship fund for people with limited means to participate in nature programs that will promote their psychological well-being," Sister Catherine said. "Those people specifically include women at Marian House."
