On October 18, the Saturday after the Canadian Thanksgiving, 13 SSND Associates in Southern Ontario renewed their covenant, while Sybil Percy made her first covenant.
We were delighted to be able to gather in person with the Sisters in Waterdown.
Associate Catherine Heffernan served as MC. Bill Oates led us in song.
Liz Whyte and Nerina Murray introduced Sybil; they had accompanied her during her year of orientation. Sybil received an Associate pin and a copy of “Trust and Dare”.
Sister Debbie Liesen, Director of Associates, invited us to profess our covenant. Catherine then invited the Sisters to respond.
Our celebration continued over the noon meal, and, later, during a social hour.
As one of the Associates celebrating a milestone anniversary this year (35 years), I am grateful to the Sisters and for how my association with SSND has shaped me, my relationship with God and with all Creation. We are truly blessed.
