A funeral Mass for School Sister of Notre Dame Margaret J. Bauer will be offered March 15, 10 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Frederick on what would have been her 105th birthday. Sister Margaret, a beloved member of the community in Frederick, died March 9 at Stella Maris Nursing Home in Timonium.
Sister Margaret, was the last School Sister of Notre Dame to reside in Frederick County. She taught third grade for 17 years at St. John Regional Catholic School in Frederick. She also worked in pastoral care at St. John Parish for several years well into her 90s.
