On a cool, overcast Saturday morning in September, the staff of Marian House welcomed more than 400 participants—both in-person and online—for the 17th Annual Race to Embrace Independence.
The event raised over $34,000 toward its $50,000 goal, supporting Marian House’s mission to empower women on their journeys to recovery and independence.
Alongside the race, attendees enjoyed coffee, donuts, and fresh fruit, as well as family-friendly activities including face painting and free flu shots.
A highlight of the morning was the testimony of Tina, a current resident of Marian House, who shared her inspiring journey from addiction to achieving full-time employment.
With the support of the program’s dedicated staff, Tina has rebuilt her life—and recently celebrated a well-earned promotion!
The festive event drew enthusiastic participation from School Sisters of Notre Dame and their Associates, reflecting the strong community spirit and shared commitment to hope, healing, and transformation that defines Marian House’s mission.
