On Wednesday, January 29, the Notre Dame Preparatory School Community held a special Catholic Schools Week liturgy with Archbishop William E. Lori presiding.
As part of the celebration, special tribute was given to Sister Patricia McCarron, SSND, Ph.D., for her 20 years of service to NDP as Head of School. Joining in the celebration were members of the McCarron Family as well as several School Sisters of Notre Dame.
Archbishop Lori’s homily provided inspiration on Catholic education, heralded the SSND’s faithfulness and educational vision, and celebrated Sister Patricia’s leadership and successes over these past 20 years. Click here to read this homily.
In tribute to her two decades of service, a Leadership Medal has been created in Sister Patricia’s honor.
In May, one senior and one eighth grader “who exemplify the qualities of a compassionate and courageous leader who has made a positive impact on others and the world around them,” will be selected to receive this award.
These students are an inspiration to others “to work collaboratively, demonstrate creativity in finding solutions, and promote an environment of respect and support with a humble spirit.”
At the conclusion of Mass, Archbishop Lori led the community in a blessing of Sister Patricia, who was gifted with a commemorative piece of artwork featuring the school themes from each of her 20 years as Head of School.
