Heaven to earth: We rejoice in the stellar celebration of Jubilee on August 20, 2025 at Stella Maris in Timonium, Maryland!
The stars were Sisters Margaret Marie Giblin (75-year Jubilarian), and Sisters Mary Paulette Doyas, Mary Therese Feeley, Maria Felipe Lopez, and Marie Mack, (70-year Jubilarians).
These stars were not light-years away but close to us, especially as they aligned in procession to the chapel at Stella Maris and sat in wheelchairs near the sanctuary.
Family members, friends, and SSNDs from several galaxies caught the spirit and starbursts of the liturgy with presiders Rev. Kenneth Gaddy, CSsR, and Rev. Rodney Eugene, and homilist Sister Charmaine Krohe, SSND Provincial.
Both Sisters Charmaine and Mary Roy Weiss, who offered the Call to Worship, reflected on the theme “Love Gives Everything” through the readings, songs, and prayers.
The music at the liturgy was provided by Sisters Rita Bueche, Sharon Kanis, and flutist Andrew Tomlinson. Song favorites included: I Have Loved You, Pan de Vida, Standing Before Us, and Psalm 150.
The celebration continued in the Stella Maris Auditorium, which was transformed into a dining area replete with delicious food and desserts (chicken marsala, orange-glazed salmon, veggie pasta primavera, basil buttermilk mashed potatoes, lemon-scented asparagus, roasted baby carrots, dinner rolls, Caesar salad, assorted mousse shooters and mini-pastries).
Notre Dame Prep student Ellie Blackford provided a beautiful classical background piano sonic ambience for the occasion.
Our gratitude to Sisters Rose Federici and Cora Lee Middleton and all those at Stella Maris who prepared for this special event with meteoric precision and grace—each detail shone with brilliance to be remembered for a long time.
