By Anne Macneil, Waterdown LEAD Department Co-Coordinator
SSND Waterdown LEAD has been blessed with many volunteers over the years.
Some, who want to be part of our faith-based environment, are from the local community. Some are

friends of our sisters. Most recently, we've been doubly blessed to have Associate-Volunteers, including Christine Oates, Catharine Heffernan, Deirdre Pike and Pat Stortz (who gives us much-needed computer guidance!).
These amazing women have given themselves to the charism of the SSNDs in so many ways.
They take time out of their busy schedules to help our aging Sisters enjoy a quality of life like no other!
Each volunteer brings her unique gifts to share with those who need companionship, a new face, and a special smile to brighten their day.
Volunteers never hesitate to serve with joy and love. They meet each Sister where she is. They share their musical talents on guitar, sax, and piano.
They have an aura about them that's hard to describe. They brighten the room upon entry!
I am sure not one of them realizes how amazing she really is. “We just like to visit the Sisters”, they respond.
It's fitting during this Easter Season to acknowledge and thank these Special Volunteers for all they do for us, and for how they make us feel loved.
