When Mother Theresa died on May 9, 1879, at the age of 82, the congregation had approximately 2250 sisters worldwide. As of today, we have 2410 living sisters in our congregation. We pray in gratitude for her many gifts to us and ask her assistance as we live out the new directional statement, "...

In Memoriam

Sister Mary Theresa Prior, SSND
Eileen Prior and her twin sister Theresa were born to John Prior and Mary Heslin, both from Co. Leitrim, Ireland, on May 9, 1931, and were baptized at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Forest Hills, Massachusetts.
Maria Clara Gugger was born a twin on May 9, 1920, in the town of Widnau, in the Canton of St. Gallen, in Switzerland. She was baptized the next day in St. Jacobus parish church, the day her twin Pauline died.
Rita Barbara Walsh was born In Malden, Massachusetts, a few days after Christmas in 1928, and called Bobbie by her family.
