A goal of the Human Trafficking Committee is to provide Sisters, Associates, and friends of the School Sisters of Notre Dame with opportunities for prayer and education about this form of modern day slavery. This week we share "An Educational Evening" by Sister Joan Pikiell and "Reflections on Integral Ecology" by Sister Kay O’Connell.
Earth Day is April 22. It is the day after Easter this year and thus serves as a poignant reminder that our care for the earth is an integral part of our faith. We have assembled a number of thoughtful reflections recognizing that the earth serves as the backdrop for all human activity, including all four AMSSND commitments.
A beautiful poetic reflection on the interconnectedness of all things offers a source of inspiration for the “ecological conversion” to the integral ecology paradigm to which Pope Francis exhorts us in Laudato Si’. This Lenten Season, focus on the four commitments of our province (Sustainability and Access to Water, Justice for Immigrants, Ending Human Trafficking, and the Development of Haiti), as we fast and pray for such an ecological conversion.
