African Violets
Thank you to the Associates from all of the Sisters at the Villa who received a note and blooming African violet from the Associates!
It is with great sadness that we we confirm that this school year will be the last for The Institute of Notre Dame (IND). Founded by the School Sisters of Notre Dame upon our congregation’s arrival in America, IND will officially close on June 30, 2020.
The 2020 Jubilee Board at Villa Notre Dame, composed by Sr. Justine Nutz, honors our 42 living AM Jubilarians and four who recently said a final YES to God: Clara Hounsell, Irene Scarola, Mary Bann, and Betty Rosser.

Marie Dolores was 18 when she entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Baltimore; she and four of her five sisters were SSNDs. Sister Marie Dolores ministered as a teacher for more than three decades in Catholic schools.

You Are Sent
On this day 1986, You Are Sent, the Revised Constitution and Directory of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, was approved by the Congregation for Religious and Secular Institutes.
For two wonderful years, Betty became more and more involved in parish activities and teaching religious education. She said, “It was then that I realized that God was calling me, not only to the Catholic faith, but also to religious life.”

Sister Estelle died at Notre Dame Convent, Waterdown, Canada, on March 7, 2020, 17 days after her 104th birthday. She was in her 83rd year as a SSND.
